About Tourleader New Zealand
Who we are, where we live, what we do - the Tourleader New Zealand team!
The team
There’s no corporate ownership behind our website, we are simply real travellers who came to New Zealand in 2006 because this is where we wanted to live and set up our little tourism business. We do what we love most, writing about travelling and what makes New Zealand so special. Also all the photos on the website were taken by us.
Wendy from England has always been a passionate traveller. After travelling extensively in South America for 10 months, New Zealand for a total of 14 months and Australia for 5 months, she went to work for a New Zealand company as an eco tour leader based in India for two years. She was her best guiding travellers through the public transport system (or on camels) and chaos of India. Totally in love with New Zealand, now living in the land of her dreams, passionate for all details in plant, animal life, Maori culture and what is uniquely New Zealand, she is proud to run her own Welcome Service and holiday apartment in beautiful Whangarei (usually providing accommodation to newcomers). Her artistic passion is flax weaving, which she also teaches (see 'AllFlax' in Facebook for more).
Urbi is from Switzerland, has a master's degree in business administration/economics, spent over 2 years backpacking the hard way through 25 countries (meeting Wendy in Bolivia in 1995) and has travelled many others since. Now fascinated by Maori culture he loves to live in a part of Polynesia. He takes care of web design, documentation, presentations and research - with Swiss precision of course. He is also a stock photographer, see for example his own NZ stock photo website. He also wrote a Spanish course for beginners and especially travellers.
What we do
Our goal is to serve travellers to New Zealand in many ways:
- Interesting and uncomplicated tours through our favourite region of New Zealand: Whangarei Tours Limited.
- Traveller and newcomer accommodation and information in our Whangarei accommodation.
- A Welcome Service for newcomers to Whangarei and New Zealand.
- Reliable travel information on the web and ebooks: Tourleader New Zealand!
Data protection
We use cookies exclusively for the operation of the web software (Contao from Germany), or if third-party systems such as our e-shopping cart (e-junkie), Google Analytics (anonymous) or Google Adsense (advertising) generate them for their own use - we do not receive any individual data our user identification.
We do not collect email addresses and do not run newsletters, but if someone orders an ebook via PayPal and e-junkie we will have access to the order address. However, we do not use and store those and do not share them with anyone.
Our goal is first and foremost to make our know-how about New Zealand widely available to other travellers, but the small fees generated through advertising and selling ebooks are of course a welcome side effect.
